About James Fend
I do full-time freelance web design work from Nashville, TN. I'm also an internet entrepreneur as well as a workaholic and night owl. I've been doing websites since 2004, but made it a serious profession in 2008 after graduating MTSU.
Why User Interface Design
I have a knack and passion for designing the UI and UX for web apps and software. I love making apps super easy and fun to use. I also love the challenge of turning complex or numerous features into a condensed, simple design.

I believe the design and user's experience while using your software is the #1 factor that sets apart the good from the great. Don't make users think, consistent design, effective writing, use of whitespace, focused natural user flow, forgiving of user's mistakes, but most importantly: know your user.

Other Things I'm Good At
I'm also really into startups and internet marketing; even started GrowNashville, a meetup for startup entrepreneurs in my area. I've built numerous money generating websites (ecommerce, web apps, Adsense) throughout the years and mastered SEO and just about any other way of generating visitor traffic.
My Hobbies
When not working, I try to clear my mind by: working out, playing in basketball and football leagues, entertaining my dog, spending time with my parents, rooting for the Titans, and trying to keep my exotic aquarium fish alive.
"Riding the Bull" is when you hop on the front and hold onto the rope while class 4 rapids take turns punching you in the face.

I survived.
