I believe the design and user's experience while using your software is the #1 factor that sets apart the good from the great. Don't make users think, consistent design, effective writing, use of whitespace, focused natural user flow, forgiving of user's mistakes, but most importantly: know your user.

I'm also really into startups and internet marketing; even started GrowNashville, a meetup for startup entrepreneurs in my area. I've built numerous money generating websites (ecommerce, web apps, Adsense) throughout the years and mastered SEO and just about any other way of generating visitor traffic. When not working, I try to clear my mind by: working out, playing in basketball and football leagues, entertaining my dog, spending time with my parents, rooting for the Titans, and trying to keep my exotic aquarium fish alive.
